Salad Dressing for all occasions

Hey there,

Dave usually writes the blogs, but I'm taking over to give you a cheat sheet on how to make sugar free salad dressings with our spices.

I switch back and forth between U Wanna Pizza Me and Veg Geez Louise depending on the day and what kind of a taste I'm going for. I tend to lean towards the Italian dressings so Pizza is usually my go to.

Now this isn't an exact science, and I don't measure anything so you are going to have to make it to taste. A general rule of thumb regarding vinaigrette is a 2-1 or 3-1 ratio of oil to vinegar. So for example, 2 tablespoons of red wine vinegar would whisk well together with 6 tablespoons (3oz) of olive oil...and that would be a good baseline. Season that dressing with a tablespoon or less of seasoning, add half of it at time and adjust to your taste. If you have an empty salad dressing bottle that's awesome, I just make my dressing in a bowl for a one time use.

I mix extra virgin olive oil with red wine vinegar (or white vinegar) and a dash of water in a bowl. Less is more with the vinegar. I whisk in as much or as little Pizza seasoning as I want. It's as simple as that. Nothing crazy which is why I can do it! I've become so spoiled having Dave around that I cannot cook anymore, so our spices have definitely helped me get back into the cooking game.

Think about what you can put this over...
