Dave Conner
Dave traded late-night kitchen shifts for spice-filled days, but his roots run deep. A proud Johnson & Wales alum with over twenty years in the culinary trenches, he’s put in the sweat, the sleepless nights, and more than a few sacrifices to turn his passion into Ocean State Pepper Co. Today, he’s on a mission to bring chef-level flavor to home kitchens everywhere — one bold, small-batch blend at a time.
Katie Evans
Katie is a classically trained Pilates instructor and wellness coach with a degree from UMass Amherst — but don’t let the calm exterior fool you. After years in the restaurant world and helping build brands from the ground up, she brings serious business savvy and customer know-how to Ocean State Pepper Co. She keeps the operation running smoothly, connects with our community, and makes sure every social post is on point (the best she can).
OSPC VALUES
-
Focused on health
Founded by a chef and a long time celiac, we bring a lifetime of food and health expertise to every blend — because what goes on your plate should matter as much as what’s on it. -
obsessed with quality
We’re relentlessly focused on sourcing the highest quality ingredients. When we can’t find crops that meet our requirements for natural, flavorful and fresh, we grow them ourselves.
-
Raised by relationship
Our customers and partners are everything to us. From the farmers we work with (you’re the man, Matt) to the artisanal culinary shops that stock our seasonings (Jan, you’re a saint), to you, our amazing customers. Caring is why we’re doing this, and how we’ll keep it going.
-
Supporting Community
We’re not just building a company to make food taste better, but to make food taste better and elevate our region’s economy. Our decision to source and produce locally connects our success directly to our home region of Rhode Island and New England. It’s in our name for a reason.
-
Environmental Stewards
We place the planet before costs. Plastic is cheap, fills our landfills, and takes eons to break down if not properly recycled. That's why we use glass and compostable materials in our packaging process. The extra cost of packaging is part of the cost we are willing to pay to protect the future of our planet.
-
down to clown
Fun is a non-negotiable element to our business, and to your experience with our products. Who says that cooking needs to be this labor-intensive, overall drain on your day? With our easy to use blends, the cheeky names are just a nod to having fun, and bringing a little joy into the frying pan. We have just one question to ask you: Why so serious?
