Slow-Cooked Comfort with Serious Flavor
This beef stew is everything you want in a comfort classic—tender beef, rich broth, and vegetables that soak up every bit of flavor.
Built with Secret Weapon Burger Seasoning, it brings a deeper, more savory profile than your standard stew, turning a familiar dish into something seriously craveable.
Preparation:
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- In a Dutch oven over medium heat, brown the beef in batches with vegetable oil. Transfer to a plate and set aside.
- In the same pot, add carrots, onions, and mushrooms. Cook for about 5 minutes, until lightly browned in the beef drippings.
- Deglaze the pot with red wine and reduce to a simmer.
- Stir in beef stock, then return the beef to the pot along with the potatoes.
- Add the entire packet of Secret Weapon Burger Seasoning and stir to combine.
- Cover and transfer to the oven. Roast for about 3 hours, until the beef is tender.
- Remove from oven and stir in a flour and water mixture to thicken. Return to low heat on the stovetop and cook until thickened.
- Remove from heat and serve.
Pro Tip:
Brown the beef in batches—don’t overcrowd the pot. This helps develop that deep, rich flavor that makes a great stew.
Make It Your Own:
- Swap red wine for beer for a different depth of flavor
- Add peas at the end for a pop of freshness
- Use sweet potatoes for a slightly sweeter twist
- Skip thickening for a more brothy, rustic stew
What To Serve With It:
Serve with crusty bread or in a bread bowl for the full comfort experience. A simple side salad helps balance out the richness.
