Rich, Melty, and Made for Dipping
This Irish stout cheese fondue is everything you want in a shareable appetizer—rich, creamy, and packed with bold flavor.
Made with a blend of cheeses and finished with Cow-Abunga, it brings a savory depth that pairs perfectly with the malty stout and makes every dip better than the last.
Preparation:
- Rub the inside of a small saucepan with a garlic clove, then discard.
- Add stout, onion, and pepper to the pan. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a low simmer.
- In a separate bowl, combine shredded Swiss and cheddar cheese. Toss with flour and Cow-Abunga seasoning.
- Gradually add the cheese mixture to the stout, stirring constantly until fully melted and smooth.
- Transfer to a fondue pot to keep warm.
- Serve immediately.
Pro Tip:
Add the cheese slowly and keep stirring—this helps prevent clumping and gives you a smooth, creamy fondue.
Make It Your Own:
- Swap stout for another beer style for a different flavor
- Add a splash of mustard for extra depth
- Mix in a little cream for a richer texture
- Try different cheese blends like Gruyère or fontina
What To Serve It With:
Serve with crusty French bread, pretzels, or roasted vegetables. This also works great for dipping potatoes or sausage.
