Homemade Everything Bagels

  • 4-6 People

  • Time: 45 Minutes

  • Difficulty: Medium

Ingredients

  • 2 cups bread flour

  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1.5 cups plain greek yogurt
  • The Works
  • 1 tsp water
  • 1 egg white

Fresh Bagels, No Fuss Required

These homemade everything bagels skip the complicated process and still deliver that classic chewy texture and bold flavor.

Made with a simple dough and finished with The Works, they’ve got everything you want—savory, crunchy topping and a soft, satisfying bite.

Preparation:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add yogurt and mix until a dough forms. If too dry, add water 1 teaspoon at a time until it comes together.
  4. Knead dough on a lightly floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  5. Shape into a ball, then cut into 8 equal pieces.
  6. Roll each piece into a rope and connect the ends to form a bagel shape. Place on prepared baking sheets.
  7. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle generously with The Works seasoning.
  8. Bake for about 25 minutes, until golden and cooked through.
  9. Let cool for at least 20 minutes before serving.

Pro Tip:

Don’t skip the kneading—it helps develop that chewy texture that makes these feel like real bagels.

Make It Your Own:

  • Add shredded cheese to the dough for extra richness
  • Use whole wheat flour for a heartier version
  • Make mini bagels for snackable portions
  • Try different seasoning blends for variety

What To Serve With It:

Serve with cream cheese, butter, or use them for breakfast sandwiches. They’re also great toasted the next day.
